Linking Back: Front Page Resumes, Looking to the Future, and Bartending

This week's "Linking Back" is one of our most eclectic. Check out these links:

- Front page resumes vs. video resumes vs. regular resumes. Check the resume post from Freakonomics. FWIW I feel Freakonomics has really declined in terms of consistent quality - I remember when they used to only post once (max twice) a day and they really hit the spot with their posts.

- Interesting post on blogging under your own name. I blog under CK Tutors but everyone knows who this is, so maybe I fall into either category. Regardless, I'm still waiting for #1 on Penelope's list.

Linking Back: Spies, Reading, and Charlie Munger

- Another great post about reading statistics by The Numbers Guy at the WSJ. The Numbers Guy posts daily about the ways numbers are used (and abused) in our world. *Tip* If you're a Georgia Tech student, you can access the WSJ via the GT library website - go to databases, go to Factiva, and click on News Pages.

- Colleges are being warned about the potential for spies - this article via CNN.

- A story about ex-cons graduating college via a program in NYC, article via NY Times.

- Blogging makes you smarter. This one isn't shocking, but an interesting read nonetheless.

- I just found out about this guy - I see a lot of similarities between the two of us. But the fact that he posted a Charlie Munger speech (which by the way is WELL worth reading) makes me want to reach out to Ben to have a pow-wow. More on those efforts later... but here's a snippet from the speech:

Wisdom acquisition is a moral duty. It’s not something you do just to advance in life. As a corollary to that proposition which is very important, it means that you are hooked for lifetime learning. And without lifetime learning, you people are not going to do very well. You are not going to get very far in life based on what you already know. You’re going to advance in life by what you learn after you leave here.
